What is the difference between an AICI Image Consultant and a TFIC Image Consultant?

The federation of Image Consultants was founded in 1988 as a national professional body in Britain to promote the image industry and standards of performance and good practice within the industry.

The benefits of membership are identical to AICI, with the main difference between the two being the methods used to establish and test standards.  AICI has three levels of competence, which include an examination to test basic knowledge to become a first level Certifed Image Consultant.  TFIC, on the other hand, developed a joint award with The City and Guilds of London Institute, an independent organization, operating under a Royal Charter, which enjoys wide support from many industries, working closely with the education service and government departments. 

Everyone joins TFIC as an affiliate member.  As they progress in the industry, they can elect to take the TFIC, City and Guilds joint award to become an Associate Image Consultant(AMFIC) and can become a Full Member Image Consultant, (MFIC).  Full members can be awarded the Fellowship of the Federation Image Consultant, (FFIC).
