FABULOUS FESTIVE FROCKS

One of the essentials over the festive season will be to frock up for the office party, a house party or a special occasion (In my case, a joint christening). I have selected an ideal dress silouette to balance the common figure types, purposely avoiding black.
Oval/ Round: Avoid dresses that emphasise the tummy area. Try empire styles that highlight the thinest part of your body and flow over your tummy.
Slim Straight Up & Down: Horizontal designs and textured fabrics will add some curve to your lithe frame.
Figure of Eight: Opt for a fitted, waisted dress with a straight or pencil skirt. Go for thicker straps on the dress if you are well endowed.
Inverted Triangle: Use thick strapped halter necklines to minimise your shoulders and pick 50's style skirts (High fashion at the moment) to add curve to your lower body.
Triangle/ Pear: An A-Line design with defined waist will balance your hips perfectly. Heavily embelished tops will also help with balance.
Hourglass: You have many options as your body is alrady balanced. Play up those curves with a form fitting number or opt for a slightly A-Line version if you are concerened about your hips.
Straight Up and Down: If you are more solid with few curves, then opt for a grecian style with some ruching to direct the eye out at the shoulder and below the waist.
