New In Singapore November 2010
I took a stroll around Great World City to have a look and see if there is anything new to report. Here are my picks:
First stop Sephora and as usual I wasn't disappointed. Urban delay have just launched a very desirable Primer Set which includes a face/ lip/ lash and eye primer and all for the very affordable price of $82. It comes very nicely presented so its ideal as a gift. For those of you who still don't know what a primer is - It's worn under foundation or by itself. It smooths and refines pores and helps makeup stay in place. Also to try Adonia's Retexturizing Face Primer SPF20 available from Nutri-Style($59).
I also spied Sephora's new eyeshadow palettes of 4 shadows and a liner for the unbelieveable price of $35.
Just as I was leaving the store, the very sleek Clarisonic Skin Cleaning gadget caught my eye. The Clarisonic has just hit the shores of Singapore and is boasted as being the next big thing in skin home care. Clarisonic's soft, gentle brush oscillates back and forth more than 300 times per second. It promises that products are better absorbed after use as the skin is so well cleansed. Skin is softer and oily patches or dry patches are reduced. Pores also appear smaller and the Clarisonic is proven to remove 6 times more makeup and 2 times more dirt and oil than manual cleaning. Its not cheap at $375 but I can justify it if I think of it being the cost of just two facials. You can read more about how it also reduces fine lines, wrinkles and rosacea at clarisonic.com
Next stop M&S with the latest Fall/Winter offerings. While I'm never blown away with the latest offerings, there are a couple of things I love about M&S; their accessories & shapewear. I am loving their Tummy & Waist Shaping Vests which work like a dream in keeping a nice smooth silouette under tops and dresses. They come in Nude, black & white and are ideal for layering for those heading away to colder climes this winter. Priced at $39, I deem these one of my favourite items of all time. Also worth a mention are their pencil skirt waist slip which is ideal under skirts or dresses. When choosing a size, go for 1-2 sizes bigger then your usual clothing size otherwise shapewear will create more problems then it will fix.
After this, I headed toward M&S's accessory section and I was delighted to see that they had a mini sale going on at one of the stands. From this season I loved the trio of long pearl beads in Silver, Lilac & Purple ($49). These pieces can be worn together or by themselves. A classic that will lift the plainest of outfits and ideal for adding some sparkle to both day and evening wear for the upcoming festivities (Well we are in to November now!).
Having already spent my allocated pocket money for my shopping trip I decided just to give a peak at a few other shops so I glanced in the door of Charles & Keith (Ok, I admit I tried on a couple of pairs of boots) and I coveted a studded black clutch - A steal at $39. Dorothy Perkins is also worth a look this season and I picked up a fab floral braclet for just $14.
