"Ms. Lane was hired to conduct a laboratory section of the online natural science general education course in human nutrition.  In this capacity, she met once a week for two hours with a group of 31 business administration students to facilitate their understanding of the material and to guide them in the completion of science labs connected with the topic of nutrition (such as understanding food labels, recording and analyzing one’s own diet, calculating body mass index, and so on).  Based on the course evaluations completed by the students, informal feedback which was shared with me by some of the students from Ms. Lane’s class, and my own classroom observations of the lab session, I can say that Ms. Lane did a wonderful job in conducting the course.  The classroom environment was very friendly and conducive to discussion and group activities, and Ms. Lane presented information and guided the activities in a manner that generated a lot of enthusiasm from the students.  It is always a pleasure to hear from students, as I did with this class, that the instructor had made them interested in a topic which they otherwise would have found tedious or irrelevant to their major field of study.  Indeed, it is especially noteworthy that some of the students even wanted to continue their studies of nutrition by taking advanced classes which are offered at our home campus in Buffalo, New York. 

The quality of Ms. Lane’s teaching was a valuable contribution to the SIM/UB undergraduate program, and was very much appreciated by me and my colleagues at SIM and in Buffalo."
